We\u00a0 drive through Sindi, a town that is known for its\u00a0historic textile mill.\u00a0The tour continues to Tori, where you can see a well-preserved village\u00a0centre \u2013 a church, an inn and a stud farm. There is a mysterious cave known as Tori Hell in the\u00a0steep riverbank in Tori. The tour\u00a0 continues to Soomaa National Park which is famous for its\u00a0fifth season: in some years the spring floods have risen by a meter a day. A short trek across a boardwalk over a bog, brings us to \u00a0the centre of the National Park to look at the exhibition of\u00a0Soomaa\u2019s nature.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Pearls of P\u00e4rnu County \u2013 T\u00f5stamaa Manor and Villa Andropoff<\/b><\/h3>\n

Then we drive to Audru village, where you can see an old manor complex and church. A 2.5 kilometre polder takes you from Audru to Valgeranna beach. It was set up to avoid flooding the coastland of P\u00e4rnu Bay. The polder has become a\u00a0stopover for many migratory birds. Villa Andropoff is a holiday centre, known for its beautiful location. It\u00a0was built for the Soviet Communist Party leaders. There will be a coffee\u00a0break in the main house which has a beautiful sea view. You may take a walk to the white, sandy beach.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Kihnu Island<\/b><\/h3>\n

For many years, the men of Kihnu\u00a0have frequently gone to sea while the women ran the island and became the\u00a0guardians of the island\u2019s cultural heritage. That includes handicrafts,\u00a0dances, games and music. The islanders \u00a0\u00a0wear their national costumes\u00a0in every day life. The Kihnu cultural heritage is included in \u00a0the list of UNESCO. Kihnu is the largest island in the Gulf of Riga. The\u00a0island has four villages with a total population of over 500 people.\u00a0The ferry to Kihnu departs from Munalaiu port which is 45 km from P\u00e4rnu.\u00a0 The trip to the island takes 50 minutes. The exotic tour\u00a0 starts on an open lorry, where you can learn about the\u00a0life and traditions on the island. In addition to the museum and the church\u00a0you\u00a0 have the opportunity to climb to the top of a \u00a0lighthouse and familiarise yourself with the shipping history in the old power station. There\u00a0is an open-air diner at the Linak\u00fcla campsite, where you are able to enjoy\u00a0a delicious fish lunch.\u00a0The ferry departs from Kihnu to Munalaid in the afternoon.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Viljandi town and Olustvere Manor<\/b><\/h3>\n

Cobbled streets, ancient\u00a0oak trees and a beautiful lake conjure up a very special atmosphere.\u00a0This small city is the \u201ccapital of folk music\u201d for most Estonians. We have a walk in the old town and castle ruins. Olustvere Manor is one of the best preserved manor complexes in Estonia.\u00a0After a coffee break in the manor we walk in the park and explore other buildings. There are\u00a0\u00a0 handicraft,\u00a0wool and ceramics workshops, the smithy and the distillery. We can see typical landscapes of P\u00e4rnu Lowland, such as\u00a0fields, forests, rivers and swamps and pass small towns like Suure-Jaani, V\u00e4ndra,\u00a0Tori and Sindi.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Through the coastal villages to Latvia<\/b><\/h3>\n

A half day tour takes us to the bordering Republic of Latvia through the lovely coastal villages of P\u00e4rnu County. We learn about sailing history and its influence on the local life. We see beautiful landscapes in the Luitemaa National Reserve and admire pine forests and coastal dunes. In 1864 the oldest Nautical School of Baltics was established\u00a0 in Aina\u017ei (65 km from P\u00e4rnu) to teach both Estonians and Latvians to become captains or steersmen.\u00a0On the way back we drive along the popular holiday area and\u00a0 stop in the beautiful coastal village of Kabli. We see the beach and the Kabli bird-ringing centre. H\u00e4\u00e4demeeste has been an important site for building sailing ships. Riga \u2013 the capital of Latvia\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Riga was founded in 1201 and is a former Hanseatic League member. Riga\u00b4s historical centre is a UNESCO world Heritage Site, noted for its Art Nouveau and 19th century wooden architecture. On the way, you hear about the history and present day of Latvia and there will be a short stop for coffee. A walking tour is by far the best way to explore Riga. Let\u00b4s have a look at the House of Black Heads, St.Peter\u00b4s Church, The Cathedral, Little Guild and Big Guild, Three Brothers, R.Wagner Street and walk through the old Swedish Gate. After the tour you have some \u00a0free time (app. 3 hours) to explore the Old Town on your own or enjoy a meal in a cozy restaurant or street cafe. There are lots of small boutiques and a large department store\u00a0Centrs\u00a0<\/i>for shopping. Interesting exhibition halls and museums are also worth a visit.
